Slay! A group of co-workers from New York threw one of their own a Beyoncé-themed ‘Bey-Bey’ shower
Bringing the Bey-Beys! The pregnant co-worker, Katie, is a huge Beyoncé fan — and also having twins like Queen Bey just did
Amazing: The party was inspired both by Bey’s music and this maternity shoot
‘Got to help throw a Beyoncé themed baby shower today at work,’ Riley, who works on a marketing tteam at a furniture company called Humanscale, wrote on Twitter while posting a few images from the party.
The group printed out a card reading ‘Congrats on your Bey-Beys’, accompanied by an illustration of a pregnant Beyoncé drawn by British fashion illustrator and designer Hayden Williams.
There was also a tiered plate of doughnuts from Dough and Glaze, which was topped with a sign that read, ‘OK babies, now let’s get in formation’.
Elsewhere in the office, a piece of cardboard was covered in a sky-blue fabric and decorated with fake wildflowers — a photo backdrop that looked just like the one Beyoncé posed in front of for her pregnancy and baby announcements.
The mom-to-be and her co-workers posed in front of the set with a green veil (like Queen Bey’s) and small signs reading #slay, ‘boy bye’, and ‘I woke up like this’.
We found out Katie was pregnant with twins, and she’s a huge Beyoncé fan,’ Riley told E! News. ‘So when it came time to plan her shower at work, our team got together and came up with the Bey theme because of the Carter twins.’
They made the props themselves, and are now selling digital downloads of the signs on Etsy.
‘I’m a graphic designer, so I whipped up the photo booth signs and some other decorations, and my coworkers purchased the flowers and designed the flower arch!’ said Riley.
‘That was the hardest part because the shower was a surprise but our office is small, so we had to hide a huge wooden palette covered in flowers for a few days.’
All in all, they only spent about $100 to $150 on decorations, including $30 on flowers. The biggest expense was the doughnuts.
Since she shared photos online, thousands have shown their approval, earning her 17,000 likes and international attention.
‘Beyoncé will be proud,’ wrote one admirer. ‘I AM CRYING. YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES,’ wrote another.
